Can I scan barcodes and QR codes using the Asset Panda mobile app?
Yes. Our iOS and Android app lets you scan barcodes and QR codes with your device camera to open asset records and complete permitted actions. For everyday scanning, you do not need a separate handheld barcode scanner.
Do I need to purchase proprietary barcode labels or asset tags?
No. You can generate and print your own barcode or QR code labels, or use compatible labels from another supplier. Choose a label material suited to the environment where your equipment is used, especially for outdoor or high-wear assets.
How does Asset Panda handle barcode or QR scanning for asset check-in, check-out, and audits?
Scan an item to open its record, then follow your configured workflow to assign it, check it back in, or verify it during an audit. Your team can capture who has an item, where it belongs, and whether any follow-up is needed. Changes completed offline sync when the device reconnects.
Can I use Asset Panda without Wi-Fi or cell service?
Yes. You can use supported mobile workflows, including barcode scanning and audits, while offline. Download the records you need before heading into an area without coverage; the app saves your work on the device and syncs it after you reconnect. Other users will see those updates after the sync completes.
Which barcode formats can Asset Panda scan?
We support common 1D and 2D barcode formats, including Code 128 and QR codes. If you use a less-common symbology, check our supported-format list before ordering or printing a large batch of labels.
