GE Healthcare harnesses data and analytics across hardware, software, and biotech. The company is a manufacturer and distributor of diagnostic imaging agents and radiopharmaceuticals for imaging modalities that are used in medical imaging procedures, and offers dyes that are used in magnetic resonance imaging procedures. GE Healthcare also manufactures medical diagnostic equipment, including CT image machines. Further, it develops healthcare technological solutions for medical imaging and information technologies, medical diagnostics, patient monitoring systems, disease research, drug discovery, and biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Based in Chicago, the company was incorporated in 1994 and operates as a subsidiary of General Electric.

Here in our Sunnyvale, California, office, we have about 50 employees. Our assets are moving to multiple locations and cities. We’ve been using Asset Panda for three years to solve the logistical issues associated with getting our machines out to customers and tracking them back to our warehouse.

Prior to Asset Panda, we relied on Excel spreadsheets, and we lost assets consistently. With Excel, we were trying to track which customers had our system, but there was no way to get historical data or have a check for missing information. Asset Panda was able to have a database of all of our customers imported in and selected from a drop-down, so there’s no confusion about where it’s going. The app also stores contact information for all of our customers so when we conduct audits, we can reach out to the customers directly.

Asset Panda is highly customizable and works in different scenarios. The reports have been great, and the email updates are really helpful for a quick update on our assets. We use both the mobile and web apps to track our assets. I estimate we save about two hours a day with Asset Panda.

GE Healthcare uses quite a few Asset Panda solutions, including check-in/check-out status, mapping, work orders/maintenance, mobile audit, role-based settings, barcode generator, customized reporting, asset tracking over multiple locations, unlimited custom fields, unlimited actions, customized notifications, ability to customize the mobile app from the web, the ability to manage inventory, compliance software, and the cost-effectiveness of the tool. Among the features we use regularly, the barcode scanner has been the most useful — this feature has saved our lives!
